This is my attempt at a Manx  clone buggy. It took two years and a lot of skinned knuckles but it turned out pretty well.
It started with the purchase of a weathered buggy someone put together about 15 years before I picked it up. I pulled the body and started on the chassis / pan.
I removed old pan halves and welded in new ones. The chassis is from a bug that has been shortened 14 or so inches. That meant cutting the pans to fit. It took a couple of attempts but I’d finally got the contour right. It got new brakes, a rebuilt transmission and a rebuilt engine.
The gel coat on the fiberglass body was pretty rough so I started scanning The SAMBA for a better body. I found a new Berrien body and new Berrien chassis in Virginia. So my wife and I drove up with the trailer and picked it up. The project was started but luckily the PO did not cut or drill the body. It had Sid pods I did not care for. So I sold the pods and the chassis for almost as much as I gave for the full assembly. I got the body bolted on, the windshield frame installed and the wiring installed. I fabricated my own wiring harness.

As is the case with most of my projects is sold the buggy. It found a new home in Tampa Florida.
